2016, the second release by io audio recordings, continued the trajectory set forth in the debut album albeit with a much tighter focus. Whereas 2015 was a shotgun blast of ideas and influences, 2016 is where those ideas really began to coalesce into a unified whole. From the relentless fuzz of Sleep With Anger to the cosmic drone of Zero To Infinity and the exotic space mantra of Chable, 2016 was the first concrete distillation of the term “experimental space rock”. In continuing the tradition of unique homemade packaging, the hand painted paper mache “lightbulb head” that served as the physical package for the original release has been referenced here on the silver foiled J-cards created by the artist for this cassette re-release
